A company www.air-band.co.uk have expressed an interest of bringing their broadband varient service to Bidford (B50 only at the moment). The service is a wireless service using a small receiver on the house. This service is aimed at businesses and residential and will provide a starting service of 512k and upwards. They have said they will set about bringing the service to Bidford when 30 residential & 20 businesses have shown an interest.

The monthly costs associated with this product start from £29.99 for residential and £69 for businesses. Funding can also be made available to meet installation costs for businesses or home workers. Installation costs are currently £199, although it has been hinted at a lesser charge for the first set number of subscribers.

Standard internal receiver

The receiver shown on the left here is typicall of all that is required to make the connection, in poorer reception areas the receiver above is used. The service is broadcast locally from a suitable high point in the area to be covered.
